Secure Your Power

Each morning, we have the opportunity to set the tone for our entire day. How you greet yourself upon waking can make all the difference. The day will be filled with twists and turns—but first, you must speak kindly to yourself.

Whether it’s an affirmation or a simple “You got this,” starting the day with a positive mindset can shift everything. It’s a small act with a big impact.

Your choice of go-go juice—coffee, tea, water, or even an occasional soda—plays a part in this ritual. No two lives are the same. We all wake up at different times, and that’s perfectly okay. Still, we share common experiences and traits that bind us. So take this time to sip your go-go juice and spend a few quiet moments with yourself.

Consider writing in a journal. You don’t need anything fancy—affordable journals are easy to find at any dollar store. Use this time to set intentions, release frustration, or even write yourself a love letter. Putting pen to paper is incredibly therapeutic and only takes about 10–15 minutes. Everyone’s schedule is different, so fit this practice into your day whichever way you can. Personally, I find mornings to be my favorite time for this breath and decompression.

Wake up grateful. Go look at yourself in the mirror and have your “I feel seen” moment. Harness. Create. Go after. Still, you do it—just make sure you secure your power for the day.

And in no way do I have all the answers—or even a fraction of them. I’m learning right alongside you.

I’m a millennial, so yes, our minds are wired a little differently (ha-ha). We grew up in a swirl of dial-up tones, pop culture shifts, and the pressure to always be “on.” But now? My goal isn’t perfection. It’s presence.

I just want to spark an idea. A gentle nudge. A reminder to create a version of you that remembers to breathe.

Because in the rush of motherhood, movement, and modern life, it’s easy to forget that we deserve space. Space to pause. To think. To stretch—not just our bodies, but our beliefs about who we’re allowed to become.

So let’s keep learning together. Let’s keep breathing. Let’s keep threading strength into every part of our lives.
